Oyster
Software is located in the downtown business area of Berkeley, only blocks from
San Francisco Bay and the University of California at Berkeley. All customer
phone support is also coordinated from the Berkeley location.
While
Oyster software is a relatively young company, it has had significant customer
installation success since its formation in early 1996. The size of its customer contracts, attests
to the company’s ability to successfully manage large systems development and
installations. Furthermore, Oyster’s
negotiated contract agreements with its multi-billion dollar corporate client’s
which attest to the financial stability and technical ability of this
up-and-coming company in the software development and services industry.
Fingerhut Companies recognized the FormsProtm competitive advantage
early on and signed a multi-million dollar contract with Oyster Software
shortly after the company’s formation in 1996 to replace their existing Forms Processing made by Scan Optics with FormsProtm.
The contract runs in multiple phases, with many stages of system
development and technology upgrades. Phase 1 was successfully completed in May
of 1997. Phases 2 and 3 were completed during 1998, and have thus far exceeded
all customer expectations in performance. At the Fingerhut location FormsProtm is recognizing over 600
different types of order and customer forms and processing over 150,00
documents per day at peak periods. Fingerhut continues to expand the use of
their system and add new modules to it.
In 1998 Oyster signed a large software development
contract with a services and software vendor. This customer selected Oyster
over several other vendors due to Oyster’s capability to build systems for
large volumes, involving millions of transactions per day. This is a multiple
phase contract. The second release of the software and installation was
completed for this customer in late 2000 and has exceeded all expectations.
Oyster Software specializes in multi-platform
development including UNIX and Microsoft Windows. Oyster has built several
custom, large scale networked systems for business solutions in use by hundreds
of users world-wide. |
