The
development of our flag-ship product FormsProtm
was started in 1991 at Teknekron Customer Information
Solution in collaboration with Tandem Computers for processing State Income Tax
Returns for California (Franchise Tax Board). The first production install of
FormsPro was completed in 1994 at Maritz,
Inc. in Toledo, Ohio.
In
the following years FormsProtm was installed at several large production
sites including Canadian Postal Corporation, National Insurance Group and
Healthtrac to name a few.
One
of our larger installs, Fingerhut Companies, headquartered in Minneapolis,
Minnesota installed the system at its mail order forms processing center in St.
Cloud, Minnesota in early 1997. Fingerhut Companies recognized the FormsProtm
competitive advantage early on and signed a multi-million dollar contract with
Oyster Software shortly after the company’s formation in 1996. Soon after the
install Fingerhut realized that it was now cheaper for them to process all their
work in-house than off-shore services and stopped sending any work to off-shore
locations for processing. At the Fingerhut location FormsProtm
is recognizing over 600 different types of order and customer forms and
processing over 150,000 documents per day at peak periods. In 1998, Archive
Storage and Retrieval functions were incorporated into the system and it has
proved to be a great success at Fingerhut. Fingerhut continues to expand the use
of their system and add new modules to it.
Oyster
Software recently installed a system for a new customer with processing capacity
of 1-million pages per day which will eventually grow to a processing capacity
of over 8-million pages a day.
FormsProtm
also
supports key entry and Archive access over the Internet. Our Archive functions
have a JAVA front end allowing users to connect to a FormsPro system from
anywhere in the world and view their images. FormsProtm's strong
client/server; multi-platform architecture allows clients to connect to a remote
server over the Internet for data entry. One of our clients has their central
scanning and recognition servers located in California while they use data entry
operators to do any required keying from image in Nevada. The latest version 4.5
of FormsProtm was
released in January of 2004. In 2003-2004 FormsPro was installed at some of the largest US banks at various locations in North America.
Since
it's first release in 1992, FormsProtm has been
ported to several platforms including Sun Solaris, Windows NT/2000/XP,
SGI Irix and Pyramid.
In January of 2003 the system was also ported to
PC based UNIX - FreeBSD and Linux.
It is a very robust solution and has been called
(by our clients) the most comprehensive solution available in the industry.
